31st July, 2009

The parentals took Shaun & I out to dinner at Cafe Zum Zum. I ate so much & had a food baby as a result. Highly recommend their $38 banquet (just don't eat anything the day of your booking).

30th July, 2009

My parentals arrived from South Australia today. I had requested presents, but mum brought me this plant instead.

Near the Royal Children's Hobstible, on my way home from work.

Kermit decided a foray into the cubby of his Kitty Kondo was in order. He sat in there for about 40 seconds, then got tired of the confined space & leapt out.

Part of the iTunes playlist for my 30th.

Kermit on one of his scratching posts. He was convinced there was something on the ceiling.

I love Boxers, I really do. This fellow has a decidely retarded look about him, but he's still adorable.

Buckley, a little 8 week old border collie cross staffy, was found abandoned in a Melbourne school yard. His ears & tail had been hacked off with scissors by some monster.

We have been inundated with donations & 'get well soon' cards & letters for Buckley. I have arranged a display of photos of Buckley & the letters & cards he's received in reception. This one was sent in by 2 kids, 1 was 4, the other 6 years old. Bless.

This is Ric & Gail's 'Toastie Kitty' at work. They've graffitied it with pithy sayings. The takeaway shop is called Crack House Gormett for a reason. Mainly because years ago, the man who owned it used to always have builders crack & was thus named 'Crack Man'. When he left, the woman who managed it became 'Crack Lady'. Gormett is our pronounciation of 'gourmet'.

19th July, 2009

Shaun is practising Rolling Stones songs. I don't think I'll bother going to any of the gigs.

18th July, 2009

I worked on the weekend. This squeaky dog toy adorns a shelf in reception.

17th July, 2009

New York snowglobe. It's the closest I'm going to get to NYC, at least in the short-term.

16th July, 2009

Shaun's Christmas card from his brother. It's still displayed on our bookshelf-cum-DVD-holder.

15th July, 2009

This is Aslan. He was a gift to me by my babysitter when I was two years old. He has travelled the world with me.

KERMIT!

This abortion of a sign is posted outside my work, in the staff smoking area (ie carpark).

Yesterday on the tram I got talking to an old lady who was wearing a fabulous leopard print coat. She has lived in Melbourne since 1954. Before I got off the tram she gave me this lolly.
